GOOD LUCK @ USSSA WORLD SERIES!

Kim made these custom metal art photo frames for Rip It 98 to include in their gift bag exchange at the USSSA World Series being held in Gulf Shores, Alabama this weekend. The frames are 7.25" x 8" with an embossed star pattern.  The 3-D date and USSSA logo are embossed to a high gloss.  A 4"x6" photo simply drops in from the top.  A wall hanger is attached but the frame is lightweight enough to be hung on a cork board.  Anyone interested in ordering one, they are $22.50 plus shipping. Just drop Kim a note at the e-mail listed above.

Best wishes to Rip It 98!

Custom Notecards, Note Card Box, Report Covers, Luggage Tags and Placemats

Boy, have we been busy! We've been doing quite a bit of custom work over the past few months, as well as working on some new items such as scheduling notebooks, coupon organizers, note cards, luggage tags, gift tags, mini scrapbooks and, as previous shown, scrapbooks that can be displayed. We have a policy that we do not post custom work so that our clients are getting a product unique to them. However, below are a couple of designs that we have been given permission to post.

This line of custom work began when Kim designed some note cards for her daughter-in-law's employer, ARC (Association of Related Churches). Here is a look at the card we designed, as well as a gift box we made in which the cards are to be kept. (We apologize for the quality of the photos -- bad lighting that day!)

ARC then requested that we design some items for an event they were hosting. Here are some report covers that were created and used to bind ARC's reports for the meeting, as well as name cards for the tables and luggage tags that were attached to gift baskets ARC gave their attendees. (Note that the attendee's name is misspelled on this sample due to a typing error made on the list of attendees. Thank Heaven, this was caught well before the event.)

One of the attendees, Chuck Angel of The Harvest Church in Fort Worth, Texas, saw our work at the ARC event and asked us to create something for several fundraising dinners he was hosting for his son's, Joe Angel's, upcoming missions trip to Africa. The result? These unique placemats!

There was so much information that needed to be available to the potential donors of Joe's missions trip, that we decided to create pockets on the placemats. These pockets hold pamphlets that detail Joe's mission responsibilities, Joe's mission partners, how to contact Joe while he is away, and even has a special prayer guide written by Pastor Angel.

To give the placemats that something extra special, we included a photo of Joe as well as a couple of photos of some of the children whose lives have been impacted by the fantastic work done by these missions.

Joe's fundraising dinners were a great success, and we were proud that ScrappyLegg Designs could be a small part of helping Joe accomplish his goal for this missions trip. Joe has been in Africa for over a month now, and we are sure he is touching lives for Christ everyday. We are praying for you Joe!

Travel Tales Suitcase and Mini Album

Have you traveled to exotic lands, gone on a special vacation, or just returned from your honeymoon and need an extraordinary place to showoff all those photos, well check out this suitcase and mini scrapbook album that Jeannene made that is pretty enough to display in your home or office. And it's all paper! This Kathy Orta design has so many photo and journalling opportunities your entire trip can be displayed in style.

The suitcase and album have been created using the Kay & Company Cut & Paste paperline featuring pastel and bold pinks and yellows. Crafted out chipboard, this suitcase has all the details of a real suitcase, including straps with metal buckles and a hinged closure. The outside of the suitcase is covered in a vintage dot pattern and highlighted with a beautiful butterfly motif.

This is a front view of the suitcase.

Silver butterfly charms with pink crystals accent the front of the suitcase.

The pocket on the front of the suitcase includes a pullout wallet. The opening is secured with a Velcro closure and accented with a metal button.

This is the inside of the wallet which features pockets for additional photos, journalling or space for keepsakes such as ticket stubs, maps or brochures.

This is a side view of the suitcase.

This photo shows the suitcase laying flat. Although the handle and straps (which have been inked to resemble leather) are made of paper, the paper is heavy Kraft paper that has been lined with Tyvek for extra strength and durability.

This is the suitcase in the open position.

The lid of the suitcase features an extra large pocket with a Velco strap perfect for holding your larger keepsakes or 8x10 photos, and the strap holds everything in place. Included in the pocket is a "passport" with a decorative brad for added interest.

This is the inside of the "passport".

As an added surprise, just open the Velcro strap and fold down the pocket to reveal another pocket in back for additional storage. The lid of the suitcase is lined with a complimentary travel motif paper.

The inside of the bottom of the suitcase is also lined with a travel motif paper that matches the lid. Pink ribbon and a metal clasp create the suitcase's interior fastener.

This photo shows the bottom of the suitcase with the mini album in place.

The front of the mini album is covered with complementary butterfly and vintage dot paper and is accented with metal brads, charms, raised metal buttons and contrasting jute on the album's closure.

The side of the album is bound using pink ribbon. Here you can see that each page of the album is connected with a 1/4" gusset to allow room for your photos, keepsakes and journalling tags.

This is the back of the album.

The album opens with a gate fold.

The inside pages of the album open in all directions and include many pockets and pullout photo frames and journalling tags in a variety of sizes. Check out the inside pages below.

Once all the pages are opened, the inside of the back of the album is large enough to hold an 8x10 photo.

This suitcase and mini photo album couldn't be more perfect for displaying and preserving photos and memories of a special trip.

Just a Quick Note...

This is just a quick note to all of you who have come to know us through this blog. The last couple of months have been very happy and sad for me (Scrappy). At the end of June I retired...yea me! I also went to the Bahamas for my last fling before settling into the "Golden Years". That's the happy part.

The sad part is, shortly after I returned home, my beautiful cat (Savannah) that has been with me for almost 16 years became ill. She developed a tumor around her jaw and could only eat small amounts of food at a time. The vet took a biopsy of the tumor and told me that there wasn't anything that could been done for her. I was told to make her as comfortable as possible. She died two months later. She was my companion and best friend for so many years, and I have memories that will last me for the rest of my life. To see her picture, please scroll down and look on the left side of this blog. Wasn't she beautiful!!!

For all of you who have fur babies...enjoy them while you can. For the ones who have never experienced having a fur baby...you don't know what you're missing.

Thanks for stopping by and please leave a comment and let us know a little about you. We want our blog to be a place where friends are made. We have had people from all over the world visit us and we hope you like what you see. Hugs to you all.

Finished Hybrid Mini Scrapbook Album

WHAT A BUSY SUMMER!! We have had a lot going on this summer, but we have done a few projects that we would like to share. This is the finished hybrid mini scrapbook album inspired by Kathy Orta of Paper Phenomenon. This album has a vinitage pocket watch theme. The covers and spine are made of chipboard for a booklike quality. Three-demensional watches have been added to the cover for additional pop.

This is the outside spine of the book, picking up the watch/time theme with clock hands.

This is the back of the album. The large tree reflects braches of a family tree.

The album has a magnetic closure featuring a keyhole embellishment and metal key charm hanging from it.

When fully opened, the right side of the album features a shadow box for keepsakes and the left side of the box is the mini photo album.

This is a close up of the shadow box.

This is the front cover of the mini album, highlighted with a metal gear and Tim Holtz clock face and sentiment charm.

The inside cover has a large corner pocket which holds a pull out for photos a journalling.

The album features the Bo Bunny Timepiece Collection. There a many pockets with photo frames and six pullout booklets for many photo and journalling opportunities, and embellishments throughout that add additional interest to this vintage scrapbook album. Below is a quick look at all the pages this books includes.

We would love to hear what your think about this project, and don't forget to checkout Kathy Orta at Paper Phenomenon.
